The effort to build 4 inter-regional transport axes is an important task to implement the Resolution of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term. From this highlight on transport infrastructure, Hai Duong hopes to create new momentum and great opportunities to promote socio-economic development.
Investlcool
The construction unit of the Project to renovate and upgrade Provincial Road 395 and the road leading from Cay Bridge to Provincial Road 394 is racing against time, urgently constructing to complete the route by the end of 2024. With a total investment of 1,214 billion VND, after being put into operation, the traffic network will be completed, forming an axis connecting industrial parks and industrial clusters in Binh Giang and Cam Giang districts. In addition to meeting the increasing demand for transportation and trade, creating favorable conditions for attracting investment, the project also contributes to reducing traffic accidents.
To create a connection with the above project, Hai Duong City People's Committee is focusing on upgrading and expanding Vu Cong Dan Street. The project has a total investment of 1,137 billion VND with a length of 1.15 km. This is a vital route passing through Dai An Industrial Park, connecting the city with Cam Giang and Binh Giang districts. Therefore, this traffic axis plays an important role and position in tightening regional connectivity.
The project to renovate and upgrade provincial road 390 is one of three projects on the traffic axis connecting National Highway 5 through Thanh Ha district to the Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway. This route is more than 5 km long, expanded to 12 m, which will solve and overcome the shortcomings of traffic infrastructure in the communes of Ha Dong area of Thanh Ha district. This is the early lychee capital of the province, so it is in great need of a guaranteed traffic infrastructure for convenient transportation.
Development fulcrum
According to the planning of Hai Duong province for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister, the inter-district space of the province is divided into 4 regions. The central region has Hai Duong city; Nam Sach and Gia Loc districts are general service urban areas. The western region includes Cam Giang, Binh Giang and Thanh Mien districts, developing concentrated industry on a large scale in the province. The southeastern region includes Thanh Ha, Ninh Giang and Tu Ky districts, developing specialty agriculture, associated with commodity production, processing industry centers, light industry, tourism, trade and services associated with agriculture. The northern region has Chi Linh city, Kinh Mon town and Kim Thanh district, developing multi-industry integration with the province's major economic centers, prioritizing resort tourism, cultural tourism, linking tourism with the Noi Bai - Bac Ninh - Hai Duong - Quang Ninh tourism corridor; building ecological, smart and modern urban areas. Therefore, the 4 inter-regional traffic axes are the fulcrum for these spatial areas to promote their potential and advantages. At the same time, they create mutual support in socio-economic development. Traffic goes first, leading and paving the way to promote the development of other industries.
According to Mr. Vu Van Tung, Director of the Department of Transport, Hai Duong province is focusing on implementing key transport projects, with priority given to inter-regional connectivity projects. The four connecting transport axes play an important role in the province's transport network. To realize the province's goals and aspirations, transport is a key factor. Not only creating advantages and welcoming investment capital, the above four transport axes also contribute to improving the quality of life of the people.
The 4 inter-regional traffic axes that Hai Duong is determined to implement include 13 projects with a total investment of about 9,330 billion VND. These are the traffic axes: Vu Cong Dan Street (Hai Duong City) to Ke Sat Town (Binh Giang) connecting to the Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway intersection at Provincial Road 392; the interchange with National Highway 5 in Kim Xuyen Commune (Kim Thanh) located on the axis connecting Hai Duong with Quang Ninh Province and Hai Phong City; National Highway 5 (Lai Vu Bridge area), through Thanh Ha Town, Hop Thanh Bridge to the Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway intersection and the traffic axis connecting National Highway 5 with National Highway 18 (from Hai Duong City through Han Bridge, through Nam Sach District, Tan An Bridge to Chi Linh City). Among the 13 projects on these 4 traffic axes, in addition to the projects being urgently constructed in the field, specialized agencies are actively preparing to invest in the remaining projects.
