On the afternoon of March 23, in Hai Duong City, the Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with Hai Duong Electricity One Member Co., Ltd. to organize a launching ceremony to respond to the "Earth Hour Campaign" in 2024.
The event in response to the Earth Hour campaign in 2024 will take place from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. tonight, March 23.
Participating in the program were representatives of the leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Information and Communications, Hai Duong City People's Committee and 100 youth union members, officers and employees of Hai Duong Electricity.
With the theme "Making electricity saving a habit", in 2024, the whole province will continue to implement Directive No. 07/CT-UBND dated June 26, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman on enhancing electricity saving in Hai Duong province in the period of 2023-2025.
The whole province strives to save 2% of total electricity consumption; agencies and offices save at least 5%; outdoor advertising and decoration activities save at least 30%; restaurants, hotels, commercial service establishments, office complexes and apartment buildings reduce at least 50% of lighting capacity, advertising and outdoor decoration during peak evening hours.
According to forecasts, in 2024, the weather situation will have many extreme developments, and it is forecasted that customers' electricity demand will increase suddenly, causing the risk of local overload during peak hours. Therefore, it is extremely necessary to save electricity, implement reasonable production plans, and shift production times to avoid peak hours during the dry season months.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, leaders, youth union members and employees of Hai Duong Electricity Company cycled through the main streets of Hai Duong City to support the Earth Hour campaign. On this occasion, Hai Duong Electricity Company Limited distributed 2,000 leaflets promoting energy saving and providing instructions on safe and effective electricity use to the people...
