March 25, 2023 23:21

From 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on March 25, many agencies and units in Hai Duong City turned off their lighting and decorative lights to respond to Earth Hour.

According to Hai Duong Newspaper reporters, during Earth Hour, Hai Duong Urban Works Management Joint Stock Company turned off decorative lights and fountains at a number of locations managed by the unit, such as the welcome sign cluster at Doc Lap Square, the decorative lights cluster at Tam Giang intersection, decorative lights on Thanh Nien Street, May Su intersection and fountains at Bach Dang Park, Thong Nhat Square, October 30 Square, decorative lights on trees along Bach Dang Street... Many headquarters of agencies: Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Construction; Hai Duong City People's Committee... also turned off lights and decorative lights in response.

This year, the Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with sectors and localities to increase propaganda through the media, with banners, slogans, billboards, and posters in densely populated areas, some main roads in Hai Duong City, and headquarters of agencies in districts, towns, and cities. The Department also propagated to units, businesses, and people from 20:30 to 21:30 on March 25 to organize the turning off of lights and unnecessary electrical equipment in response to the event.

Hai Duong Electricity One Member Co., Ltd. has distributed leaflets and banners promoting Earth Hour to its affiliated units and corporate customers. Hai Duong Urban Works Management Joint Stock Company has reduced lighting power on some less-frequented roads, and decorative light clusters on some main streets...
