On June 3, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Hai Duong province requested agencies, units and localities to proactively respond to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind in the province.
According to the forecast of the provincial Hydrometeorological Station, due to the influence of the low pressure trough connecting with the low pressure area in the west and the convergence of high winds, from June 4 to 6, the Hai Duong area will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind. The total rainfall is generally from 50-100 mm, in some places over 100 mm.
To respond promptly to heavy rains, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Hai Duong province requests agencies, units and localities to closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts of natural disasters and weather to inform authorities at all levels and people to proactively prevent and minimize damage. Prepare on-site forces to support people in responding and overcoming consequences if any. Organize inspections and reviews of key areas for natural disaster prevention, residential areas along rivers, streams, low-lying areas at high risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides to proactively deploy response plans.
Hai Duong Newspaper, Provincial Radio and Television Station, local news agencies and newspapers increase the time to disseminate information about the developments of heavy rains and extreme weather to authorities at all levels and people to proactively take preventive measures. At the same time, disseminate and guide people on how to recognize and respond to heavy rains, thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind to minimize damage. The Provincial Hydrometeorological Station closely monitors weather and natural disaster developments and promptly reports to provincial leaders, leaders of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, and leaders of People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns to be proactive in commanding, directing, responding to, and overcoming consequences caused by natural disasters...
