Hai Duong withdraws alert level III on Thai Binh River

From 9:00 a.m. on September 14, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Hai Duong province issued two dispatches No. 17 to withdraw alert level I on the Luoc River and dispatch No. 18 to withdraw alert level III on the Thai Binh River.

According to the announcement of the Hai Duong Province Hydrometeorological Station, on September 14, the upstream flood affecting the Thai Binh River system is slowly receding, leading to the water level of the rivers in the system falling and continuing to fall slowly. The actual water level measured at 7:00 a.m. on September 14 at Pha Lai was 5.4 m (0.6 m lower than alert level III), at Cat Khe was 4.87 m (0.13 m lower than alert level III) and will continue to fall.

The Hai Duong Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue has withdrawn the third alert on the Thai Binh River system from 9:00 a.m. on September 14. At the same time, it is required that the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of Tu Ky, Kim Thanh, Thanh Ha, Cam Giang, Nam Sach districts, Hai Duong city, Chi Linh city, Kinh Mon town, and all levels and sectors organize patrols and guarding of the dike lines of the Thai Binh River system according to alert level II. Closely monitor the progress of dike works, especially embankments, sluices, river dikes, and dike toes that are lagoons, ponds, and low-lying fields to promptly detect and handle any damage to dike and irrigation works from the first hour.

Also according to the announcement of the Hai Duong Province Hydrometeorological Station, on September 14, the upstream flood affecting the Luoc River is receding, leading to the water level of the Luoc River being reduced and continuing to decrease. The actual water level measured at 7:00 a.m. on September 14 at La Tien was 3.35 m (0.85 m lower than alert level I) and will continue to decrease. The Hai Duong Province Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue has withdrawn the alert level I on the Luoc River from 9:00 a.m. on September 14.

The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Hai Duong province requested the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Thanh Mien, Ninh Giang, and Tu Ky districts, and all levels and sectors to closely monitor the progress of dike works, especially embankments, landslides, and river dikes to promptly detect and handle any damage to dike and irrigation works from the first hour.
