Hai Duong launched the campaign "Million steps of kindness"

The campaign “Million steps of kindness” is organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society in collaboration with FPT Online Services Joint Stock Company. Participants can run or walk freely anywhere and at any time, actively recording the distance traveled via the vRace application on mobile devices such as smartphones, smartwatches, etc.

According to the plan of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, the campaign "Million steps of kindness" will last 56 days and nights (from March 12 to April 21), aiming to attract 700,000 people to participate in sports (walking or jogging) and record their achievements via the vRace application, reaching 7 million km, corresponding to a fundraising budget of 7 billion VND.

This resource will be used by the Vietnam Red Cross Society to build 7 boarding kitchens for students in mountainous areas; support sustainable livelihoods for 70 poor families; organize a "humanitarian market" to provide necessities for 700 families in difficult circumstances; provide nutritional advice and support for 7,000 poor children; organize medical examinations and provide free medicine for 7,000 people in difficult circumstances in Dien Bien, Son La and Thai Nguyen provinces.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, delegates and nearly 200 volunteers participated in a walk in response to the campaign "Million steps of kindness" with a distance of more than 1 km.

This is one of a series of practical community activities towards the “Humanitarian Month” in 2024 and the 70th anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024). The Hai Duong Provincial Red Cross Society aims to mobilize 1,000 people to participate in the campaign.
