According to the announcement of the Department of Preventive Medicine, from the beginning of 2024 to now, the whole country has recorded nearly 70 cases of whooping cough, mainly in some provinces and cities in the Northern region, including some children who were sick but not old enough to be vaccinated and the epidemiological factors of infection are unknown.

In Hai Duong, in 2024, no cases of whooping cough were recorded, but in 2022 and 2023, the vaccination rate against whooping cough did not meet the target on a commune scale, and there were still some cases of children not being fully vaccinated on schedule. In 2023, Hai Duong recorded 1 case of whooping cough, 7 cases of measles, and 3 cases of Japanese encephalitis B.

Notably, since the beginning of the year, the province has recorded 68 cases of chickenpox with 2 outbreaks at schools. In addition, the weather is changing, many people have caught the flu... These are infectious diseases that can be prevented by vaccination.

In order to proactively deal with vaccine-preventable diseases, the Department of Health requires units in the industry to strengthen epidemic prevention measures.
