On January 18, according to the Thach Ha District Police (Ha Tinh), the unit initiated a case, prosecuting 9 defendants for gambling and organizing gambling in the form of football betting with a transaction amount of more than 200 billion VND per month.

Accordingly, the 9 arrested subjects include: Bach Trung Sang (born in 1971), residing in Ward 9, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City; Nguyen Tan Truong (born in 1989), residing in Linh Trung Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City; Pham Van Hung (born in 1981), residing in Ward 3, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City; Nguyen Hai Ho (born in 1987), residing in Ward 14, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City; Nguyen Quang Thai (born in 1984), residing in Ward 8, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City; Pham Truong Thi (born in 1974), residing in Thanh Loc Ward, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City; Tran Binh Minh (born in 1983), residing in Bung Rieng Commune, Xuyen Moc District, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province; Nguyen Huu Chan (born in 1967), residing in Binh Chau commune, Xuyen Moc district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, and Ha Hoc Minh (born in 1982), residing in Hamlet 2, Bung Rieng commune, Xuyen Moc district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

During the search, the authorities seized 1 car; 15 mobile phones; 1 laptop, more than 100 million VND, 400 USD and a number of related objects and assets.

Previously, through the work of grasping the situation on cyberspace, Thach Ha District Police, the Department of Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention and a number of professional departments in the Provincial Police discovered many gambling accounts and gambling organizations in the form of football betting on the Internet.

During the investigation, the police identified the gambling ring in the form of football betting on the Internet led by Bach Trung Sang (born in 1971), residing in Ward 7, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City.

Bach Trung Sang is the subject who uses the Super Master account (super general agent) of the betting site viva88.com and grants accounts to Masters (general agents).

Master subjects will create Agent accounts and Member accounts to directly bet on the website viva88.com.

Accounts are given a betting limit called points, each point will correspond to the amount of money that the subjects agree with each other.

Participants bet on football matches using the points given, then based on the match results to pay each other the winnings and losses.

The Investigation Police Agency of Thach Ha District Police is continuing to investigate, expand the case, and handle it according to the provisions of law.
