The one-way entrance fee for each visitor to the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam is 70,000 VND; Ngoc Son Temple is 50,000 VND; Hoa Lo Prison is 50,000 VND; and Thang Long Imperial Citadel is 100,000 VND.
On December 6, within the framework of the 14th Session of the 16th Hanoi People's Council, the Hanoi People's Council passed a Resolution amending regulations on fees for visiting scenic spots, historical relics, and cultural works in Hanoi as stipulated in Resolution No. 06/2020/NQ-HDND.
Specifically, the Resolution stipulates that the one-way entrance fee for each visitor to the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam is 70,000 VND; Ngoc Son Temple is 50,000 VND; Hoa Lo Prison is 50,000 VND; Thang Long Imperial Citadel Center is 100,000 VND; Co Loa is 30,000 VND; Huong Pagoda is 120,000 VND (including 2,000 VND for tourist insurance); Quan Thanh Temple is 10,000 VND; Duong Lam Ancient Village is 20,000 VND; Thay Pagoda is 10,000 VND; Tay Phuong Pagoda is 10,000 VND.
Previously, Resolution 06/2020/NQ-HDND of the Hanoi People's Council on promulgating regulations on collecting fees and charges in the city under the authority of the City People's Council's Decision stipulates the entrance fee for each visitor as follows: Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam relic is 30,000 VND; Ngoc Son Temple relic is 30,000 VND; Hoa Lo Prison relic is 30,000 VND; Thang Long Imperial Citadel Center is 30,000 VND; Co Loa relic is 10,000 VND; Huong Pagoda relic is the highest at 78,000 VND...
Thus, with the Hanoi People's Council passing this resolution, most entrance fees to scenic spots, historical sites, and cultural works in Hanoi have increased in price.
In addition, regarding fee management, the Resolution stipulates that for the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Hoa Lo Prison and the relics belonging to the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Conservation Center (Imperial Citadel and Co Loa Relics), the fee collection unit is allowed to retain 90% and pay 10% to the state budget.
For Huong Pagoda Relic, the fee collection unit pays 85% to the state budget (including the cost of restoration and renovation of the relic site and the cost of organizing the festival for the Festival Organizing Committee, Huong Son commune); leaving 15% for the fee collection unit.
For Quan Thanh Temple, Thay Pagoda, Tay Phuong Pagoda, 100% of the fee is paid to the state budget. For Duong Lam Ancient Village, 100% of the entrance fee is left to the fee collection unit.
The Resolution also stipulates no fees on Cultural Heritage Day (November 23) for all relics; no fees on the death anniversary of the Saint on the 20th day of the 8th lunar month, and the first days of the lunar month every year at Ngoc Son Temple Relic; no fees on the 30th, 1st and 2nd days of the Lunar New Year, Buddha's Birthday (April 15) at Huong Pagoda; no fees on the 30th day of the 12th lunar month, and the first and 2nd days of the Lunar New Year at Quan Thanh Temple, Tay Phuong Pagoda, Thay Pagoda, and Duong Lam Ancient Village.
