Hanoi FC finds it difficult to compete for the 2023/24 V.League championship

After losing to B.Binh Duong, Hai Phong coach Chu Dinh Nghiem said: “We had many opportunities in that match, but were unlucky when we failed to take advantage of many opportunities. Winning and losing is normal in football, the team that takes advantage of their opportunities better will win and in this match B.Binh Duong did just that.”

Commenting on V.League after 3 rounds, coach Chu said: “What surprised me the most was Hanoi FC, I didn’t think that after 2 matches, Hanoi would be empty-handed without winning any points. This year, their squad is too thin, there are really only about ten or so players who can play, so in the near future, if they get injured or have a penalty card, it will be very tiring.”

Commenting on the championship candidates in the 2023/24 season, coach Chu Dinh Nghiem said: "It's only been 3 rounds so it's too early to say anything, but honestly, it will be very difficult for Hanoi FC to compete for the championship this season. As for Hai Phong FC, the goal is just to try to be in the top 3 teams and we have to try every match."

Today, November 5, Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem and his team will travel to Ho Chi Minh City and practice one session in the evening, before flying to Malaysia tomorrow morning. Commenting on the match against Sabah FC on November 9, the head coach of Hai Phong Club said: "This will be a very difficult match for us, because the team has many injuries when goalkeeper Dinh Trieu has back pain, while Hoai Duong and Dam Tien Dung were injured in the match against B.Binh Duong recently."

“In addition, we lost an extra day of travel and this also affected the players’ physical strength. Meanwhile, Sabah FC also got our information after losing 2-3 in the first leg on October 25 at Lach Tray, so they will definitely play differently. Therefore, this match is really not easy for Hai Phong,” added coach Chu Dinh Nghiem.

Talking about Hai Phong FC's chances of advancing to the AFC Cup 2023/24, coach Chu said: "In the match against Sabah FC, we must first gain points. If we draw or win, the chance of advancing will be very wide, because then we have the right to decide, but if we lose, the chance of advancing is very slim."
