At the regular meeting of the Provincial People's Committee in November (10th time), the Department of Industry and Trade reported on the contents related to the Hai Duong BOT Thermal Power Plant project.

After listening to some opinions of the delegates and investors, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Luu Van Ban, concluded that the Provincial People's Committee will continue to have a document requesting the Ministry of Industry and Trade to advise the Prime Minister to include an area of ​​about 5.7 hectares of 148 households affected by the project within the project boundary. Requesting Jaks Hai Duong Power Company Limited to have a document requesting the Provincial People's Committee to add this area to the project boundary and adjust related contracts to serve as a basis for relocating households out of the affected area. Develop a process for transporting and consuming ash and slag to ensure hygiene and the environment, minimizing environmental impacts during the transportation and consumption process.

The Department of Industry and Trade shall preside over and coordinate in reviewing the content, advising the Provincial People's Committee to report to relevant ministries and branches to report to the Prime Minister to allow Hai Duong province to remove the slag dump area 2 from the project; at the same time, add the affected area of ​​148 households to the project boundary and adjust related contracts to serve as a basis for relocating households out of the affected area. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development shall review and guide investors to fulfill their obligations regarding the forest land area encroached during the construction and development of the slag dump, with the completion date before December 5. QLand use planning of Hai Duong BOT Thermal Power Plant

The Hai Duong BOT Thermal Power Plant Project was approved by the Government for investment and construction in Phuc Thanh Commune (now Quang Thanh Commune) and Le Ninh (Kinh Mon). The plant has a total capacity of 1,200 MW, including 2 units invested by Jaks Hai Duong Power Company Limited. According to the decision approving the adjustment of the detailed construction plan, the project has a total area of ​​over 1.9 million m2, including areas: Main factory, housing and services, port, slag dump, road, power line corridor and power pole foot. Up to now, Hai Duong BOT Thermal Power Plant has been in commercial operation for nearly 3 years. During the project implementation, there are still some problems related to households located between the slag waste runway, slag dump; transportation and consumption of ash and slag; land sector; contents related to dikes; forest management and acceptance of construction works for Hai Duong Thermal Power Plant...

Previously, on November 27, Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Le Vu Tuan Anh signed a decision to administratively fine Jaks Hai Duong Power Company Limited in Kinh Mon town VND80 million for failing to publicly disclose environmental information as prescribed; the area for storing ordinary industrial solid waste did not meet technical requirements. Specifically, in the south of boiler No. 4, ordinary industrial solid waste was left outdoors without a roof, and the area where the waste was stored had no bottom lining.
