Checking the results of pollution remediation in the transfer of ash and slag waste at Hai Duong BOT Thermal Power Plant

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province has just assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to preside over and coordinate the inspection of the results of overcoming environmental pollution during the transfer of ash and slag waste of the Hai Duong BOT Thermal Power Plant (Kinh Mon). In case the company has not ensured current environmental standards and regulations, the company is required to promptly remedy the situation according to regulations; if the company ensures current environmental standards and regulations, the report to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and permission to continue transferring ash and slag waste.

According to the report of JAKS Hai Duong Power Company Limited, after receiving instructions from the Provincial People's Committee, the company has implemented synchronous measures to overcome, control and minimize ash and slag dust generated during transportation and consumption. By September 20, the company had completed the environmental protection items, minimizing ash and slag dust generated as required and requested the competent authorities to accept and evaluate the results.

Previously, the transfer of ash and slag waste at this company generated a lot of dust, causing environmental pollution. Local people and authorities have repeatedly reported and petitioned the authorities for consideration and resolution. The Provincial People's Committee has directed the authorities to inspect, monitor and request the enterprise to remedy the situation.
