Authorities have just promptly extinguished a fire at a hotel on Thien Hien Street, Nam Tu Liem District (Hanoi) and helped more than 20 trapped people escape safely.
Early this morning, December 1, a fire broke out at a 7-story hotel on Thien Hien Street, My Dinh 1 Ward, Nam Tu Liem District (Hanoi).
The fire was discovered at around 5:15 a.m. in the staff room on the first floor. At that time, there were more than 20 people in the hotel, mainly on the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th floors.
Nam Tu Liem District Police mobilized officers, soldiers, 4 fire trucks, 1 ladder truck and many specialized equipment to the scene.
Authorities used water cannons to put out the fire, prevent it from spreading, and reassure those trapped. After about 5 minutes, they reached the people inside the hotel and guided them to escape through the iron stairs outside.
By 5:40 a.m., the fire was completely extinguished. Many items in the staff lounge on the first floor were burned, but no one was injured. Property damage is being assessed.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by authorities.
