House fire in Nha Trang city, 4 family members died

At around 10am on November 28, a fire broke out on the first floor of a 3-storey house of about 100 square metres on Phuong Sai Street. Because the shop contained many flammable goods, the fire broke out in a few minutes and spread to the upper floors. At the time of the fire, there were 4 people in the house, including two women and two children.

The fire area is near a market with a lot of people passing by. Some people nearby used fire extinguishers but failed. Neighboring households moved their belongings outside to avoid the fire spreading.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Chung, a resident living near the fire area, said that at the time of the fire, two women escaped after failing to put out the fire. However, when they learned that there were two children (one year old and three months old) trapped in the house, the elderly woman, who was the grandmother, ran in to save them.

The fire department dispatched about 4 specialized vehicles and dozens of soldiers to the scene. One group used a water hose to put out the fire, the other group approached from the direction of the house next door to approach and search for the victims.

The fire was brought under control at 10:30 a.m. According to the fire department, four people died, including three grandmothers and grandchildren and a man who ran in to save them and was trapped. The victims were found on the top floor.
