In 10 years of implementing the tree planting movement, Gia Loc district (Hai Duong) has exceeded the plan for 7 years, completed the plan for 2 years and is continuing to plant trees this year, contributing to economic development and environmental improvement.
According to Gia Loc District People's Committee, from 2015 to present, the district has planted 538,000 fruit trees and shade trees of all kinds, of which 537,500 trees were planted from 2015 to 2023; this year, communes and towns are continuing to plant. In 9 years, 7 years from 2015 to 2021, the district exceeded the tree planting target, in 2016, it exceeded the highest, nearly 64%; 2 years from 2022 to 2023, the plan was completed.
The total budget for tree planting is over 550 million VND, of which the district budget is nearly 229 million VND, socialized sources are 190 million VND, the rest is from the commune budget and other sources.
The above results were achieved because the localities in the district developed and implemented specific and clear plans. The district actively promoted and mobilized people to change crop structure; organizations participated in organizing tree planting in public areas, traffic routes, etc.
The tree planting movement in Gia Loc has developed many fruit gardens and tree-lined roads, creating shade and contributing to improving the environment in the area.
