The average room occupancy rate at tourist accommodation facilities reached nearly 50%, while some tourist centers across the country recorded higher occupancy rates, around 70%. However, the overall number of visitors has not yet reached expectations.
The Vietnam National Tourism Administration stated that some key tourist destinations did not attract the expected number of visitors, the holiday was not long, and visitors preferred to visit relatives and family rather than travel. This year's travel trend is to tighten spending, low purchasing power, and cut costs of public transportation (airplanes, trains) while transportation service prices increase during peak days.
The number of domestic tourists staying in the country has decreased because some of them choose to travel abroad. The situation of local congestion on the roads to tourist areas and destinations in some localities has not been improved. Although tourism products have been proactively developed and renewed, the organization of tourism types has not been truly creative and diverse, and entertainment venues have not been improved.
