Tourists to Khanh Hoa and Lao Cai during National Day holiday on September 2 increased sharply

On September 4, Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism said that during the National Day holiday of September 2, the province welcomed over 503,000 visitors to the locality for sightseeing and relaxation, of which nearly 152,000 stayed overnight.

The average room occupancy rate of accommodation establishments reached over 68%. Total tourism revenue reached 662 billion VND.

According to tourism businesses in the province, the number of visitors to Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa on the occasion of National Day September 2nd tends to increase slightly, mainly concentrated on 2 days (September 1-2nd).

Tourists concentrate on vacationing in Bai Dai area (Cam Lam district), Doc Let (Ninh Hoa town) and closed resorts on the islands with a capacity of over 90%, Nha Trang city area has a capacity of over 70% (mainly focusing on the 3-5 star segment and equivalent).

On September 4, the number of guests decreased significantly, with the province's room occupancy rate estimated at 40%.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, said that the number of tourists increased slightly because families limited long-distance travel to prepare for students to return to school. At the same time, many families who wanted to go on vacation had almost all gone during the summer tourist season.

To serve customers attentively, travel agencies, accommodation establishments and service providers in Khanh Hoa province have made the best preparations in terms of human resources, actively renovated and upgraded infrastructure, created beautiful landscapes and green spaces, and met the maximum needs of tourists.

Most destinations do not increase prices, focusing on the quality of customer service. Means of transport serving tourists according to the tour program strictly follow the regulations of the road and inland waterway laws, comply with the regulations on traffic flow, parking vehicles and boats in the right places to pick up and drop off passengers, contributing to limiting traffic congestion before and during the National Day holiday on September 2.

On this occasion, Khanh Hoa province held the inauguration ceremony of the flagpole and the first provincial flag-raising ceremony at April 2 Square, Nha Trang city.

Khanh Hoa Tourism Industry has simultaneously implemented many solutions to stimulate tourism, creating conditions to attract diverse domestic and international tourist markets.

Assessing the response to tourists' travel needs, Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism said that in addition to road routes, domestic flights from provinces and cities to Khanh Hoa have been adjusted to increase capacity to ensure serving the needs of tourists during the September 2 holiday.

From August 31 to September 4, on average, there were about 35 domestic flights and 23 international flights arriving at Cam Ranh International Airport every day. Compared to the same period last year, the number of international flights to Khanh Hoa increased 3 times.

At the same time, the railway industry has added more pairs of passenger trains on the Ho Chi Minh City-Nha Trang railway line, thereby, there are an average of 17 trips to Khanh Hoa every day. In particular, since the opening of the Nha Trang-Cam Lam and Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet expressways, the traffic of private vehicles has increased. Therefore, the number of travel companies receiving group guests is no longer high.

In Lao Cai province, information from the provincial Department of Tourism said that the total number of tourists to the locality during the 4-day National Day holiday in 2023 (from September 1-4) increased sharply compared to the same period in 2022 (up 167%) with about 308,164 arrivals.

Total tourism revenue of Lao Cai this time reached about 740 billion VND.

Particularly at Sa Pa National Tourist Area, during the 4-day holiday, the total number of tourists coming to the area reached nearly 100,000, an increase of nearly 5,400 people compared to the same period in 2022. The room occupancy rate in the area reached 90-95%. Total revenue from tourists reached over 340 billion VND, an increase of more than 57 billion VND.

According to Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Sa Pa town Hoang Thi Vuong, compared to other tourist destinations nationwide, Sa Pa is one of the tourist destinations that welcomes many tourists during the holiday season because of the beautiful weather, terraced fields in the ripe rice season...

Tourist attractions have prepared well for the conditions and effectively exploited the cultural and natural values ​​of Sa Pa, thus creating highlights to attract visitors.

On this occasion, other localities in Lao Cai province also recorded a bustling tourism atmosphere with tens of thousands of visitors each day, such as Lao Cai city welcoming about 72,500 visitors, Bao Yen district welcoming about 180,000 visitors... Hotel room occupancy rate in the whole province is estimated at 65-70%.

During the holiday, the weather was relatively favorable, and localities in the province organized many activities and events such as the Mountain Climbing Competition "Conquering Lao Than Peak", Paragliding, Kayaking, Camping "In the Golden Season" in 2023 (Bat Xat district); a series of events of Cultural Space Performance of Ethnic Groups in Bao Yen district, Bao Ha Temple Festival in 2023 in "Culture-Tourism Week and Bao Ha Temple Festival in 2023"; Trung Do Temple Festival in 2023 and Bac Ha Rose and Love Festival in 2023.

The above unique events and tourism products have contributed to attracting a large number of tourists to Lao Cai.

In particular, during the September 2nd holiday this year, at Lao Cai International Border Gate, many tourists came to complete exit procedures to Hekou (China) with passports. The Border Guard Station at Lao Cai International Border Gate has increased its forces, working continuously to facilitate the fastest exit and entry, ensuring security and order at the border gate.

During the National Day holiday, Lao Cai has focused on strengthening state management of tourism activities. Departments, branches, sectors and localities have made careful preparations, and functional forces have closely coordinated and proactively taken measures, especially at key tourist destinations of the province such as Sa Pa National Tourist Area, Bao Ha Temple, and Bac Ha Tourist Area.
