US officials have talked about the movement of missile launchers, while the Alma Research Center identifies potential launch sites and types of weapons expected from Iran.
Tensions in the Middle East have been rising in recent days as Iran is said to be preparing for a potential attack on Israel. US officials have detected the movement of missile launchers in Iran, indicating serious preparations for an upcoming attack. This information was reported by the Wall Street Journal on August 5, based on sources from the US government.
Israel's Jerusalem Post on August 6 quoted a report by the Alma Research Center saying that Iran plans to use ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in an attack on Israel. These weapons could be launched from western regions of Iran. Alma has identified 12 potential missile launch sites, including major cities such as Tabriz, Kermanshah, Khorramabad, and Dezful. The launches would be carried out via mobile launchers and from open areas next to underground bases.
Iran has vowed a tough response to the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran last week. In April, Iran also carried out a major attack on Israel. The move was in response to the killing of IRGC commander Mohammed Reza Zahedi in an airstrike in Syria earlier this month. In that attack, Iran launched an attack with about 300 drones and missiles on Israel.
