Fans waiting for the "dream final" between Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner at the 2024 Monte Carlo Masters have gone from one disappointment to another.

In the first semi-final, world number 2 Sinner lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas (seed number 12) 1-2 after more than 2 hours and 30 minutes of play.

Tsitsipas started well on his favorite surface and gave Sinner a hard time in the first set. The Italian then had to accept defeat with a score of 4-6.

In game 2, Sinner started to "warm up" and won 6-3 against Tsitsipas to tie the score at 1-1. It was thought that Sinner would rise strongly after winning game 2, but the opposite happened.

In the third set, Sinner could not maintain his position and made many mistakes. Tsitsipas seized the opportunity to win 6-4, thereby winning a ticket to the final.

A few hours later, it was Novak Djokovic's turn to disappoint. Although rated much higher than Casper Ruud (seed number 8, Norway), Djokovic failed to show the difference in class. Ruud won the first set 6-4 but quickly lost to Djokovic 1-6 in the second set.
