During the Lunar New Year, Hai Duong had nearly 50,000 elderly people being congratulated and celebrated their longevity. Of these, 380 were 100 years old, an increase of 26 compared to 2024.
According to the synthesis of localities, on the occasion of Tet At Ty, Hai Duong has nearly 50,000 seniors aged 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95 and 100 years old and above having longevity celebrations. Of these, 380 seniors are 100 years old, an increase of 26 seniors compared to 2024.
Longevity celebrations are held simultaneously in villages and residential areas in the province on the 4th and 5th of January. The gift level for people aged 70 and 75 is 350,000 VND/person; for people aged 80 and 85 is 450,000 VND/person; for people aged 95 is 750,000 VND/person; for people aged 101-109 is 1.5 million VND/person; for people aged 110 and over is 3 million VND/person.
Wishing and celebrating longevity shows the nation’s morality of “When drinking water, remember its source” and multiplies the cultural beauty of “Respect the elderly, achieve longevity” of the local government and people. Thereby, encouraging and motivating the spirit of “old age, bright example” so that the elderly continue to live happily, healthily, and usefully for their families and society.
Hai Duong province currently has about 374,000 elderly people (accounting for about 18% of the population), of which over 54,000 are 80 years old or older.
