This year's 10th grade entrance scores in most high schools have increased compared to the previous school year, and many schools at the district level have still seen strong increases.
On June 19, the Hai Duong Department of Education and Training announced the benchmark scores for entering grade 10 of high school for the 2024-2025 school year, one day later than planned.

Specifically, the first-choice admission score for grade 10 at 36 out of 40 public high schools increased compared to the 2023-2024 school year. Some high schools with the strongest increase in first-choice admission scores include Binh Giang with 36.2 points, an increase of 6.4 points; Cam Giang with 36.2 points, an increase of 6.2 points; Phuc Thanh (Kinh Mon) with 34.2 points, an increase of 3.5 points.
Kinh Mon, Kim Thanh, Nam Sach, Thanh Ha, Tu Ky, Gia Loc, Thanh Mien High Schools all increased from 0.8 to 3.2 points. Only 4 high schools had lower first-choice admission scores than the previous school year, including: Chi Linh decreased by 2.9 points, Ben Tam (Chi Linh) by 2 points, Nhi Chieu (Kinh Mon) by 0.7 points, Ninh Giang decreased by 0.5 points.
This year, Hong Quang High School continues to have the highest first-choice admission score in the province with 39.4 points. Nguyen Thi Due High School (Chi Linh) has the lowest first-choice admission score in the province with 24 points, because this is a newly established autonomous public school in 2024.
Based on the first choice benchmark, 9 schools have met their quota and do not need to recruit second choice candidates. 31 schools continue to recruit second choice candidates. Thanh Ha High School has the highest second choice benchmark in the province with 38.6 points. Nguyen Thi Due High School has the lowest second choice benchmark in the province with 24.7 points.
The admission scores for 8 out of 11 specialized classes at Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted decreased sharply compared to the previous school year. Specifically, the specialized IT class had 34.45 points, down the most by 11.85 points; the specialized math class had 38.4 points, down 10.4 points; the specialized chemistry class had 35.7 points, down 6.7 points; the specialized geography class had 41.65 points, down 3.85 points; the specialized English class had 46.1 points, down 3.5 points; the specialized Russian class had 41.4 points, down 2.85 points; the specialized French class had 44.4 points, down 2.6 points; the specialized physics class had 41.05 points, down 0.25 points. The specialized literature, biology, and history classes increased from 0.3 to 3.05 points, of which the specialized history class had the largest increase of 3.05 points.
According to the plan, candidates will complete the admission procedures for their first choice on June 20 and 21. From June 22-23, schools will announce the admission results and confirm admission for their second choice. Before July 26, they will review admission to non-public high schools and complete admission to grade 10 high schools.
