Embraced by the tranquil mountains and forests of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu (Ninh Binh), King Dinh Tien Hoang Temple impresses visitors not only with its historical values but also with every detail of its ancient and solemn architecture.
Located in Truong Yen commune, Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province, King Dinh Tien Hoang temple is located in the relic complex of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu. This is the only place in Vietnam to worship King Dinh Tien Hoang, his parents, his sons and to commemorate the generals of the Dinh dynasty.

Nestled peacefully among the moss-covered canopy of giant trees, King Dinh Temple is an architectural work bearing the unique mark of wood and stone carving art by Vietnamese folk artisans.
The temple was built in the "noi cong ngoai quoc" architectural style (a type of temple with two long corridors connecting the front hall in the front with the back hall in the back), forming a rectangular frame surrounding the incense burning house and the architectural works in the middle.
The main architectural works at the temple include: Ngo Mon Quan, Nghi Mon, three worshiping halls, incense burning hall and main palace along with flower gardens, miniature landscapes...

From the worshiping hall, visitors will see the incense burning house, then the main palace with 5 compartments, the middle compartment worships the statue of King Dinh Tien Hoang.
Although it has undergone many stages of restoration and conservation, the ancient temple still retains the sculptures and architecture of the Later Le Dynasty with themes such as fairies riding dragons, two dragons facing a bodhi leaf, two dragons facing the moon, dragons nesting, dragons playing... demonstrating the wonderful sculpting talent of ancient folk artisans.

King Dinh Tien Hoang Temple is an important relic in a special protection area, recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site in the Trang An world cultural and natural heritage complex in 2014 and is also a famous spiritual tourist destination in Ninh Binh.
The temple attracts many domestic and foreign tourists to visit and worship every day. The busiest time is usually during the Dinh King Temple Festival on the 8th day of the 3rd lunar month every year. The festival takes place for 3 days, from the 8th to the 10th of March, attracting thousands of visitors.
