With a convincing victory over Thailand, Iran became the champion of the 2024 Asian Futsal Championship.
The home field advantage helped the Thai team gain excitement when entering the final match of the 2024 Asian Futsal Championship. However, spirit was not enough for the Southeast Asian representative to make a difference against the Iranian team. Right from the first minutes, the Iranian team rushed to attack and completely took the initiative on the field.
In the first minute, Karimi opened the scoring for the West Asian team. The 1-goal gap did not satisfy the Iranian team. They continued to push up their formation and put great pressure on the Thai team's field. Coach Rodrigo and his team played persistently and fiercely, but could not prevent the loss.
In the 6th minute, receiving a favorable cross from his teammate, Abbasi scored a backheel goal to double the gap for the Iranian team. Losing 2 goals to the number 1 opponent in the continent was not something that could stop the Thai team from rising up.
Unable to score in the first half, the Thai team rose up strongly. In the 26th minute, Sornwichian scored to reduce the score to 1-2 for the home team. But that was all the Thai team could do.
Navlighe quickly restored the 2-goal gap for the Iranian team with an impressive finish a few minutes later. Overall, this was a match in which Thailand left their own impression. They were inferior to their opponents but still had remarkable counter-attacks. In the final minutes of the match, the Thai team had nothing to lose and applied the power-play tactic.
However, this team also suffered the same fate as the Vietnamese team. Unable to score any more goals, the Thai team had to concede another goal without a goalkeeper on the field.
