Taking photos with lotus in traditional long dresses and pinafores has been a popular trend among women for the past few years. Recently, although she is not in her twenties or thirties, Ms. Do Thi Cay's photo series with lotus still received endless praise from the online community.
Mr. Hoang Kim - the photographer said that the photo series was taken 2 years ago, but he just posted it on social media, unexpectedly receiving so much positive feedback. He revealed that the photo series was taken at a lotus pond in Chi Linh City, Hai Duong, during the time when lotus flowers were in full bloom like this time.
The client asked him to take a photo shoot of Mrs. Cay (73 years old at that time), her daughter and a little girl. “That day, the weather was hot and sunny and there were many people taking photos at the lotus pond. The old lady had a gentle, beautiful face and the outfit suited her very well.”
Mr. Kim said that what impressed him most was the way she spoke, very politely and gently. “After taking the photo, she looked at the photo on the camera and was satisfied, so she hugged me and thanked me, which made me very emotional.”
Many people commented that the photo series is very beautiful, exuding elegance, suitable for the age group.
Sharing with reporters, Ms. Vu Thi Thuy Hang - Mrs. Cay's daughter said that Mrs. Cay is a retired teacher.
The reason this photo series was created is because Ms. Hang is a person who loves taking photos and loves lotus. Almost every year, she has a photo series with lotus. That year, she invited her mother and niece to go with her. She convinced her mother to take this photo series to keep as a souvenir because her grandmother is old and her health is changing every year.
Her mother agreed to follow her daughter to the lotus pond and took the photo shoot quite quickly. “She has a kind and beautiful face, so it was easy to take pictures. She just had to sit in the scene and take the photo,” she shared.
Ms. Hang said that the mother and daughter were very happy when the photo series was praised by everyone. Since her student days, she often invited her mother to take photos in other places. This was her mother's first photo series with lotus flowers. When she looked back at the photo series, she felt very grateful for having captured beautiful moments of her mother.
