The two children, both born in 2008 in Phu Tho province, were found by the Quang Phuc Commune Police, Tu Ky District (Hai Duong) about 5 hours after their family reported the incident.
At around 11pm on May 7, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Nhan (born in 1982, permanent resident of zone 14, Tu Vu commune, Thanh Thuy district, Phu Tho province) went to Quang Phuc commune police (Tu Ky) to report that her niece TNHY and her friend BHA (both born in 2008) had left home at around 10pm on May 6 and had not returned, and the family had been unable to contact the two children.
Through contact with HY's classmates, the family learned that he might have gone to Quang Phuc commune to play with a new friend they met on Facebook (named "Nhat Anh"), so they went to Quang Phuc commune police to report and ask for police help.
Immediately after receiving the news, using many measures, Quang Phuc Commune Police officers verified that the owner of the Facebook account “Nhat Anh” in the commune was N.D.NA (born in 2010). That same night, Quang Phuc Commune Police went to NA’s house to look for HY but could not find her.
According to the information provided by NA, on May 7, HY and HA came to NA's house to play, but their whereabouts are unknown. Quang Phuc Commune Police continued to monitor the situation, check, and search for the two children. At 4:30 a.m. on May 8, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Hoang Anh found HY and HA at the cultural house of Thai An village, Quang Phuc commune, and handed them over to their families. At the time of discovery, the two children were healthy and normal.
Only 5 hours after reporting, the children were found. Ms. Tran Thi Thu Nhan was moved and wrote a handwritten letter on behalf of her family to express her sincere thanks to the Quang Phuc Commune Police and the police officers who directly verified and searched for the children.
