Ngu Hung Commune Police promptly prevented people from transferring money to scammers.

At around 2:30 p.m. on December 15, Ngu Hung Commune Police (Thanh Mien) received a report that Mr. Khuong Dinh Khanh, born in 1956, in Tieu Lam village, Ngu Hung commune, had been called by a person impersonating a police officer, informing him that his bank account was related to a drug case and asking him to transfer money to the subject's account. The subject also threatened Mr. Khanh, asking him not to tell anyone.

Mr. Khanh told his wife about this. Mr. Khanh and his wife agreed not to tell anyone about this. Fearing that he would be implicated, Mr. Khanh went to the Ngu Hung branch of the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) to withdraw 44 million VND (the entire amount in the account) and brought it to the Thanh Mien branch of the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development to send to the subject. While Mr. Khanh went to withdraw the money, Mr. Khanh's wife was at home thinking about it and reported the incident to the police officer of Tieu Lam village. However, Mr. Khanh's wife did not know which bank her husband went to to transfer the money.

Upon receiving the report from the police officer of Tieu Lam village, Ngu Hung Commune Police immediately contacted all banks in the district to freeze Mr. Khanh's money, preventing it from falling into the hands of scammers; at the same time, they quickly identified the branch where Mr. Khanh was transacting. Fortunately, Mr. Khanh had just deposited 44 million VND into the bank, but before the bank could transfer the money to the scammer's account, they received information from Ngu Hung Commune Police.

Ngu Hung Commune Police worked with Thanh Mien District Agribank to transfer 44 million VND back to Mr. Khanh.
