At 2:10 p.m. on October 10, on National Highway 37 in Bach Da village, An Lam commune, Nam Sach district (Hai Duong), a working group of Nam Sach district police caught Leo Van Thuy (born in 2000, residing in It Ong town, Muong La district, Son La) holding a bag containing 46 round cylinders of different sizes wrapped in white paper, with a connecting wire at one end. Thuy confessed that these were finished firecrackers (self-wrapped type).
The working group made a record of the arrest of the offender and sealed the evidence. The results of the appraisal showed that the 46 cylinders were firecrackers, with a total weight of 8.15 kg.
At the police station, Thuy confessed that she bought the fireworks from an unknown man at the foot of Binh Bridge (Thanh Quang Commune, Nam Sach) at around 2:00 p.m. the same day for 5.6 million VND.
Leo Van Thuy is a drug addict and has two previous convictions for illegal drug use in 2019 and 2021.
The Investigation Police Agency of Nam Sach District Police has decided to temporarily detain Leo Van Thuy to continue investigating and clarifying the case, and handle it according to the provisions of law.
