The fever of the two films "Dao, Pho and Piano" and "Mai" shows the vitality and appeal of Vietnamese films to Hai Duong audiences.

Many audiences came to see the war movie "Peach, Pho and Piano"

Last week, when the movie "Peach, Pho and Piano" premiered at Venus Hai Duong cinema, I arrived very early but could not buy tickets and had to choose tickets for the next day. The next day, when I arrived at the cinema, although it was still half an hour before the movie started, there were already many people waiting. Among them, the most impressive couple were Vu Nhu Hoa and Nguyen Thi Sau, both over 70 years old, living on Hong Quang street (Hai Duong city). Despite the cold rain, the couple still went to the cinema. This was the first time in 50 years that the couple went to the cinema to watch a movie because they heard that the movie "Peach, Pho and Piano" was so attractive. Not only Hoa and her husband, many people brought their parents and children to see the movie.

According to the owner of Venus Hai Duong cinema, since the screening schedule of "Dao, Pho and Piano" was announced, the cinema's website sometimes "crashed" due to the large number of visitors. The cinema owner did not dare to accept online ticket bookings but asked audiences to buy tickets directly at the counter. Each screening room had hundreds of seats but was always full of viewers.

Not only "Dao, Pho and Piano", before that the movie "Mai" also created a fever when the audience came to the cinema in large numbers and at many times could not buy tickets to their favorite showtime.

"Peach, Pho and Piano" attracts even the elderly to watch

The two films deal with different fields, a war film made under the order of the State and a psychological and emotional film produced by a private company, but both have left a mark in the hearts of the audience, recognized as attractive films. "Peach, Pho and Piano" has helped the older audience relive memories of the fierce war; the younger generation understands more about the difficult days of the country, the great sacrifices of their ancestors. In the fragile moment between life and death, each person still hopes for a brighter tomorrow, still reserves a little spirit for romantic things. The film is even more meaningful when the world is still in chaos of war in Ukraine or the Gaza Strip, taking the lives of innocent people every day. The movie "Mai" is a psychological romance, depicting the image of a brave woman who also has moments of resignation, the desire for love, no matter how many obstacles and no matter how difficult or unfair, she always strives to rise up in life, finding her own meaning in life...

Besides the historical and humanistic values of the films, Hai Duong audiences still feel that there are "grains of sand" in the scenes, some details lack logic, are not suitable for the character's psychology, hot scenes... But above all, the films have awakened the audience's emotions, drawing them to the theater.

There was a time when Vietnamese films were almost out of favor at cinemas nationwide, including in Hai Duong. Even if they were shown, the number of screenings and audiences were quite low. There were even young people who often went to the cinema but never chose to watch Vietnamese films.

So how can Vietnamese films survive in the hearts of audiences? In the context of rich forms of entertainment on the internet, foreign films with large budgets, good content, beautiful visual effects, famous actors and good media, it is not easy.

From the "hot" Vietnamese films on the market, it can be seen that to attract audiences, first of all, the theme and content of the film are still important. If the subject is close to life, the audience will sympathize, understand and share. They will find a part of themselves in the characters of the film, making the film more meaningful and attractive. War, family, love... are old topics, but if the filmmaker can show new features, hidden corners that have not been exploited before, it will create highlights and appeal. The film is also popular because it has professional, familiar actors and new faces, bringing new styles and breaths, creating diversity and richness in acting... And, finally, the important and indispensable role of the media with each film when it is released.

"Mai" and "Dao, Pho and Piano" may not be excellent films in terms of content and cinematography, but they have clearly left an impression on viewers. That shows that Vietnamese films still have great appeal to Vietnamese people, the important issue is whether they evoke the right and hit the viewer's psychology or not.
