House fire in Ho Chi Minh City at dawn, 4 people died

Authorities initially determined that four people died in a house fire that occurred in the early morning of February 17 in an alley on Cach Mang Thang 8 Street (District 10, Ho Chi Minh City).

The house caught fire and spread to two other houses.

Initial information, at around 3:40 a.m. on February 17, a large fire broke out at a house in a deep alley at 623 Cach Mang Thang 8 Street, Ward 15, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City. Nearby residents discovered the fire and tried to put it out on the spot but were unsuccessful.

The fire then flared up violently, accompanied by many explosions, spreading to two neighboring houses, causing one house to burn and the other to be covered in smoke.

The fire prevention and rescue police force of District 10 Police coordinated with many other units to send many fire trucks and dozens of soldiers to the scene to put out the fire.

More than an hour later, the fire was completely extinguished. Currently, the authorities have initially determined that 4 people died and are calculating the property damage.

According to the people in the alley, at that time, while they were sleeping, they heard shouting so they woke up and ran outside. At that time, the people discovered that the ground floor of the house in alley 623 was on fire fiercely, so they used mini fire extinguishers and water to put out the fire but were unsuccessful.

According to local residents, two houses were burned down and one was severely burned. At the time of the fire, the house was locked and there were seven people inside, three of whom escaped. Four people died.

People in the two houses next door also opened the doors in time to escape.

According to a source from District 10 Police, initially the police suspected that a family member living in this house locked the door, set fire, and committed suicide. However, this detail is still being clarified.

The identities of the four victims were identified as: Nguyen Thi Hong Xuan (46 years old), Le Thi Hong Tuyet (47 years old), Tran Quoc Cuong (38 years old) and Le Hoang Dung (56 years old).

Among them, Ms. Xuan is a primary school teacher in District 5, and one works in a state agency.
