Care and prevention of pests and diseases of early winter crops after rain

After the water recedes, all measures must be taken to restore and develop the root system.

In recent days, there has been prolonged rain in the province, affecting the planting progress and growth and development of early winter crops.

Faced with complicated weather conditions and heavy rain, farmers urgently went to the fields to dredge ditches and quickly drain water from the fields to limit the situation of winter crops being flooded and causing plant death. After 2-3 days of dry weather, replant dead plants, break the crust, make beds, and water with 3-5 kg/sao of Lam Thao phosphate fertilizer or foliar fertilizers such as ET, KH, etc. to stimulate root development and combine with fungicide spraying to prevent premature plant death.

At the same time, farmers need to pay attention to some measures to care for and prevent pests and diseases for early winter crops in rainy weather conditions and high humidity for each type of crop as follows:

1. For cabbage:

- Dig ditches and raise beds to increase good drainage for plants.

- Prune old and diseased leaves.

- Prevent root rot using drugs: Validacin, Topsin M,…

- To prevent soft rot, use drugs: Monceren 250 SC, Alfamil 35 WP,…

- To prevent cabbage ring spot disease, spray Alfamil 35 WP, Topsin M,...

2. For potato plants:

- After prolonged rain, take advantage of the water receding until the soil reaches a suitable moisture level of 75 - 80% (squeeze the soil until it is loose) to plant potatoes immediately.

- The land must be plowed and harrowed thoroughly, weeded thoroughly, raised into beds 20-25 cm high, 1.2 m wide (including furrows), 90 cm wide, and potato beds planted in double rows.

3. For vegetables:

- After only 2-3 days of flooding, the root system is severely damaged. Therefore, immediately after the water recedes, it is necessary to take all measures to restore and develop the root system such as watering with phosphate or spraying with superphosphate.

Note: absolutely do not fertilize immediately (especially nitrogen fertilizer).

After the tree recovers, has new roots and leaves, fertilize and care for it normally.
