At this point, the Dong Viet Bridge connecting Bac Giang and Hai Duong has reached more than 98% of the work volume. This project was once accelerated to strive for early opening but failed.
The Dong Viet Bridge and the approach road were started in June 2022 with a total length of more than 811 m and a bridge surface width of 23.5 m. The bridge was built across the Thuong River to connect Bac Giang and Hai Duong provinces.
This is the first and largest cable-stayed bridge in Bac Giang province. The project is invested by the Bac Giang Provincial Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic and Agricultural Works. At this time, the construction progress of Dong Viet Bridge and the approach road to the bridge is being accelerated, ensuring the plan. The bridge alone has completed 98% of the work.
Currently, at the construction site, there are more than 60 workers focusing on paving the bridge surface and constructing the roadbed.
After completing the bridge surface, the contractor urgently completed the remaining items: Painting road markings on the bridge surface, installing the aesthetic electrical system, installing expansion joints, painting the railing edges, striving to complete Dong Viet Bridge in December 2024 as originally planned.
Previously, Bac Giang province strived to technically open the bridge to traffic in early September, nearly 4 months ahead of schedule (December 24, 2024).
Dong Viet Bridge is the first and largest cable-stayed bridge in Bac Giang province, crossing the Thuong River, connecting with Chi Linh City (Hai Duong).
The project has a total investment of nearly 1,500 billion VND. Thuan An Group is a party in the consortium participating in the project with a construction value of more than 800 billion VND.
