On September 2nd, unable to cross Dong Viet bridge to Bac Giang

The construction of Dong Viet bridge and new approach road is over 95% complete, the approach road on both sides of Hai Duong and Bac Giang is not finished yet so it is not possible to cross Dong Viet bridge to Bac Giang on this September 2nd occasion.

Overview of Dong Viet bridge construction site and approach roads

The Dong Viet bridge project across the Thuong River to connect Bac Giang and Hai Duong provinces is invested by Bac Giang province.

This is the first and largest cable-stayed bridge in Bac Giang province.

Dong Viet Bridge is over 730 m long, with a reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete structure, and a 22.5 m wide bridge deck. The bridge has completed over 95% of its construction volume, connecting the two banks of the Thuong River and pedestrians can walk onto the bridge. However, at the construction site, only those with duties are allowed to enter, and people on both sides cannot walk onto the bridge without permission.

On August 28, at the construction site, about 60 engineers and workers were urgently constructing many remaining items such as installing railing systems, embankments, lighting, median strips, and construction of expansion joints...

The construction unit focused on machinery and human resources to speed up the completion of the project.

According to the previous plan, the asphalt concrete pavement of the bridge deck would begin on August 25. However, as of August 28, the construction unit has not yet started.

The approach road on the Bac Giang side seen from above. Currently, the approach road on the Yen Dung district side (Bac Giang) has reached about 70% of the construction volume. The bridgeheads on both Hai Duong and Bac Giang sides are still fenced.
