Canadian authorities say they have found no evidence of so-called “sonic attacks” on embassy staff in Havana between 2017 and 2018.
In a report posted on its official website, the Canadian government said the interagency working group determined that there was no evidence that the health symptoms experienced by Canadian employees working in Havana were caused by an external agent.
With this statement, Canada has gone against the CIA and US accusations of the so-called “Havana syndrome,” as Canadian authorities have found no evidence of so-called “sonic attacks” on embassy staff in Havana from 2017 to 2018.
The report said that underlying medical conditions, environmental factors and common illnesses may be important factors in causing many of the symptoms experienced by Canadian diplomats.
Earlier, on September 1, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla announced on his X account that the alleged sonic attacks on diplomatic personnel, known as the “Havana syndrome,” were just a pretext for the United States to adopt a stronger political approach towards Cuba.
