The tennis court in the Hai Duong Provincial Sports Gymnasium area will be converted into a pickleball court to meet the sports training needs of the people and to organize tournaments.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the tennis court in the Provincial Sports Stadium area is about 1,164 m2 wide.2, built a long time ago, is now degraded, peeling, unusable, causing loss of aesthetics, limiting exploitation and use.
To improve the efficiency of using this area, Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee has agreed to let DRG Group Company Limited renovate this area into pickleball courts, with an area of about 1,200 m2, with a mobile roof. After completing the project, the company will transfer it to the Sports and Gymnasium for management and use. Time in 2024-2025.
Pickleball was introduced to Vietnam in 2018, mainly developed in Ho Chi Minh City, then expanded to Hanoi. Currently, this sport attracts about 10,000 practitioners. Recently, pickleball has become a new sport in Hai Duong, the number of practitioners is increasing and there are universities that have included this sport as a subject in their school.
