Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Pham Van Thuy suggested that localities and regions need to create consistent products with high value chains, but must find differences, attractiveness, and uniqueness.
On November 21, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh province coordinated to organize a conference to promote tourism in the Mekong Delta in Quang Ninh.
More than 150 delegates representing tourism units and businesses in the Mekong Delta and some northern provinces and cities attended.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Van Thuy, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, emphasized that localities and regions need to create consistent products with high value chains but must find differences, attractiveness, and uniqueness to build tours, routes, and tourism products. State agencies, tourism associations, and localities need to connect with each other, go into depth, and be practical.
Mr. Pham Van Thuy highly appreciated the efforts of the Mekong Delta Tourism Association and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh province in successfully organizing the promotion conference, creating exchanges for localities to learn and gain experience.
After the conference, each unit, locality and enterprise needs to enhance their responsibility so that the conference can soon achieve results in the coming time.
The Mekong Delta, the Red River Delta and the Northeastern provinces have different natural conditions, geographical locations and cultures. These differences have attracted tourists from the Northern provinces to the Mekong Delta. And vice versa, tourists from the Mekong Delta in recent years often choose the North in their domestic tourism programs. This is a favorable condition for the Mekong Delta, the Red River Delta and the Northeastern provinces to cooperate in developing tourism.
To stimulate tourism between the two regions, the units shared some requests of Northern tourists for tourism products and services in the Mekong Delta region; solutions to build tourist destinations, promote, advertise, and link cooperation between the two regions.
At the conference, the Mekong Delta Tourism Association, the Red River Delta Tourism Association, promotion agencies, tourism businesses of provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta and the northern provinces agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding on tourism business cooperation...
