Ministry of Transport informs about setting up boundary markers for North-South high-speed railway

After the high-speed railway project is approved by the competent authority for investment policy, the Ministry of Transport will deploy the marking of the project's protection area and the traffic safety corridor of the route and station according to regulations.

According to the Ministry of Transport, the implementation of this boundary marker planting will serve as a basis for land fund management, so that people on both sides of the railway project can feel secure in production and business.

According to the National Master Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 and the Railway Network Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, the high-speed railway line on the North - South axis is determined to have an investment roadmap before 2030.

Currently, the Ministry of Transport has completed the project's Pre-Feasibility Study Report and sent it to the State Appraisal Council for appraisal according to regulations as a basis for submitting to the National Assembly for consideration and approval of the investment policy at the upcoming 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly.

The high-speed railway project on the North-South axis, with a land use scale of about 10,827 hectares, is expected to pass through 20 provinces and cities, with the starting point at Ngoc Hoi station, Thanh Tri district, Hanoi and the ending point at Thu Thiem station, Thu Duc, Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the pre-feasibility study report, the Ministry of Transport proposed investing in a high-speed railway line with a design speed of 350 km/h; total length of 1,541 km; double track, 1,435 mm gauge, electrification; with a total investment of about 67.34 billion USD.

Regarding the scope and scale of investment, the high-speed railway on the North-South axis will have 23 passenger stations with an average distance of about 67 km, 5 freight stations connected to freight hubs. The route will start from Ngoc Hoi station (Hanoi), pass through 20 provinces and cities and end at Thu Thiem station (Ho Chi Minh City).

The Ministry of Transport recommends choosing rail technology, open technology to be able to integrate the exploitation of many types of trains, ensuring that many units can provide vehicles, avoiding monopoly.
