The force of the Police Department for Investigation of Crimes of Corruption, Economy, and Smuggling (Ministry of Public Security) has blockaded Thai Duong Group Joint Stock Company to investigate signs of law violations.
On the evening of October 10, speaking with reporters, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Duy Thinh, Chief of Van Yen District Police (Yen Bai) confirmed that forces of the Ministry of Public Security were working at the mine of Thai Duong Group Joint Stock Company in Yen Phu commune.
According to this leader, since the morning of October 9, the functional forces of the Department of Police Investigation of Crimes of Corruption, Economy, and Smuggling (C03 - Ministry of Public Security) have blockaded Thai Duong Group Joint Stock Company to investigate signs of law violations.
On October 10, the police force continued to work with the Board of Directors and some people of Thai Duong Group Joint Stock Company.
Thai Duong Group Joint Stock Company was granted a license to explore rare earth at Yen Phu mine since June 2013 with an area of 6.24 hectares, mining depth up to + 35m, mining time of 8 years and 1 month from the date of signing the license; mining reserves of 1,894,617 tons of ore (equivalent to 23,569 tons of total rare earth oxide TR2O3, 259,615 tons of iron ore concentrate 60%Fe).
