Since September 10, the Hai Duong Department of Transport has requested to stop the operation of Giai ferry on provincial road 390E across Lai Vu river.

As of 1:00 p.m. on September 16, the water level on the Rang River had dropped below alert level I.

To ensure traffic flow for people traveling at Giai ferry terminal, Hai Duong Department of Transport requested Giai Ferry Investment and Operation Company Limited to check safety conditions and put Giai ferry back into operation to serve people's travel needs from 5:00 a.m. on September 17.

Giai Ferry Investment and Exploitation Company Limited coordinates with the People's Committees of Kim Thanh and Thanh Ha districts to notify people so they can take the initiative in planning their itinerary.

Previously, on September 10, the Hai Duong Department of Transport requested to stop the operation of Giai ferry on provincial road 390E crossing Lai Vu river (Rang river) in Thanh Lang commune (Thanh Ha) and Kim Dinh commune (Kim Thanh) due to unfavorable weather conditions, directly affecting ferry safety.

Hai Duong currently has 59 inland waterway ports and 65 vessels in operation. Giai ferry is the only ferry in the province managed by the provincial level under a BOT contract. Other ferries and wharves are managed by the district level.
