For the act of illegally buying, selling and storing drugs, the couple with many criminal records were arrested by the Drug Crime Investigation Police Team of Hai Duong City Police on May 16.

At around 10:45 a.m. the same day, at house number 14A Tue Tinh, Nguyen Trai ward, the authorities caught Nguyen Thi Lien, born in 1972, living at 24/33 Bac Son, Quang Trung ward (Hai Duong city) illegally selling a bag of crystal meth for 500,000 VND to a female subject. During the arrest, the authorities seized 5 more white plastic bags, all containing white crystalline substances. Lien confessed that it was crystal meth that she had hidden to sell for profit.
At the same time and at the same house number, the authorities caught Nguyen Minh Nghia, born in 1963, hiding a white plastic bag containing a white powdery substance. Nghia confessed that it was drugs given to him by Lien for his use.
It is known that this couple lives together as husband and wife at Nghia's house. Lien has 2 previous convictions for illegal drug trafficking, and was just released from prison in August 2020; Nghia has 6 previous convictions for theft, robbery, extortion, disturbing public order and 2 previous convictions for drugs.
