MacOS Monterey 12.5 has a security vulnerability in the operating system's kernel that allows an application to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. This means an application can gain access to every aspect of the Mac device on which it is installed. Apple has identified the vulnerability as CVE-2022-32894.
The second vulnerability involves Webkit, the software Macs use to render web pages. This vulnerability leaves Safari and many other applications that use web content vulnerable to hackers. Apple said malicious code inserted into website content could trigger the execution of hacker code.
Users are advised to update to version 12.5.1 as soon as possible. In case the update is not available, please be cautious when browsing and downloading applications.
