The Ao Ba Ba is innovated with pink, white, and yellow tones and a modern shape at the Spring/Summer 2024 International Fashion Week.
Designer Thuy Nguyen introduced the Ao Ba Ba, one of the fashion symbols of women in the Southwest region, for the first time into her collection at Vietnam International Fashion Week 2024.Opening the collection is model Lam Bich Tuyen. She shows off her figure in a seductive design with soft, attractive strides.The iconic ao dai is reinvented with modern shaping, structural changes and skillful material handling.Vivid pictures of nature such as clouds, sky, lightning, waves... are beautifully depicted by meticulous manual techniques such as 3D embroidery, pleating, interweaving many layers of chiffon, silk.Instead of using her signature pop art color scheme, designer Thuy Nguyen creates a fresh look for the Ao Ba Ba with pink, white, and yellow tones and a modern way of creating shapes, changing the structure, and handling materials.The movement also makes the overall collection more attractive, each skirt sways and flows with each step of the models, leaving an impression on the viewer from the very first seconds.Runner-up Truong Thi May finished the show in a sparkling ao dai.Designer Thuy Nguyen said: "Through the collection "Flirty floating clouds", I want to bring the graceful beauty of a muse flying with the wind on clear days and even stormy days" Materials close to life, from clouds, sky color, wind bring interesting proximity, helping the wearer and viewer feel at first sight.TB (according to VTC)
