76 people died in traffic accidents after 4 days of September 2nd holiday

According to information from the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security), during the 4 days of the September 2nd holiday, there were 127 traffic accidents nationwide, causing 171 casualties.

On the afternoon of September 4, a representative of the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) said that during the 4-day September 2 holiday, there were 127 traffic accidents nationwide, resulting in 171 casualties. Of these, 125 road accidents resulted in 73 deaths and 95 injuries. There were 2 railway accidents, resulting in 3 deaths.

According to a representative of the Traffic Police Department, traffic volume increases during the holidays due to people traveling back to their hometowns, traveling and vice versa.

In Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and some main routes to tourist areas, vehicles move slowly.

Traffic police and police from units and localities have coordinated, divided and regulated traffic according to the proposed plans.

"Local police have deployed over 1,500 officers and soldiers on duty. They have arranged for cranes and rescue vehicles to deal with damaged vehicles and traffic accidents to proactively take early and remote measures to command and regulate traffic," said a representative of the Traffic Police Department.

Also during the 4-day holiday, the national traffic police handled 34,477 violations, imposing fines of more than VND71 billion. Of these, 9,390 were violations of alcohol concentration, 6,233 were violations of speed, and 332 were violations of overloading.
