On the afternoon of October 2, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training launched the Lifelong Learning Response Week 2023 with the theme "Building self-learning capacity in the digital age".
The five messages sent at the Launching Ceremony include: “Lifelong learning - The key to all success”; “Self-learning must be the core of learning”; “Self-learning is a way to build a learning society”; “Digital transformation and lifelong learning opportunities for everyone”; “Digital transformation to successfully build a new learning society”.
Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong said that implementing digital transformation in education is considered one of the key tasks and top priorities of the country. The Government and departments and sectors have created the necessary conditions for the development of digital transformation in education, ensuring that all citizens have the opportunity to study regularly and learn for life, thereby building a learning society.
“Lifelong learning has long been of special interest to the world because it is an essential need of humans and society. Now, in the face of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, that need is even more urgent,” Mr. Tran The Cuong emphasized.
The Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that in order to meet the self-study needs of all people, in our country, digital transformation still faces many difficulties and challenges. Therefore, the education sector needs to come up with long-term solutions and strategies with a specific roadmap to effectively support lifelong learning for all people on the digital technology platform. In particular, a typical solution is to raise awareness of the importance of digital transformation in education; encourage and support the application of new education and training models based on digital platforms; create equal learning opportunities between regions with different socio-economic conditions, and mobilize social resources to participate in implementation.
In addition, the sector needs to complete the database in education; form a digital learning resource warehouse, open learning resource warehouse for the whole sector, link with international learning resource warehouses, meet the needs of self-study, lifelong learning, narrow the gap between regions; build network infrastructure, technology equipment. At the same time, the sector focuses on training and fostering a team with knowledge, skills in information technology, information security to operate in the digital environment, meeting the requirements of digital transformation...
On behalf of the leaders of the Department of Education and Training of 30 districts, towns, and cities, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Cau Giay District Pham Ngoc Anh said that managers, teachers, and employees of the Education sector are determined to implement the Lifelong Learning Response Week in 2023 in many rich, diverse, practical, and effective forms, demonstrating the importance and role of building self-study capacity in the digital age to improve the quality of lifelong learning for everyone.
At the launching ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented gifts to 73 students who overcame difficulties in their studies; teachers and students interacted and shared through the lifelong learning promotion program of the People's Committee of Cau Giay District.
