Locked in a store by tour guide and forced to buy, 37 tourists "play dirty" to retaliate

A few days ago, in Yunnan, China, a group of 37 tourists were forced to buy things by a tour guide and locked in a local rubber mattress store. The tour guide demanded that all the tourists buy something, and if they did not buy anything, they would not be allowed to leave.

Due to the seriousness of the case and also because there have been many disputes over forced tourism consumption in Yunnan, the Xishuangbanna Culture and Tourism Bureau and the Yunnan Provincial Supervision Bureau also stepped in to handle it.

Initially, these two agencies confirmed that the above situation was real. The local tourism company involved was Xishuangbanna Discovery Tour International Travel Co., Ltd. The location of the incident was a store specializing in mattresses and rubber products under Xishuangbanna Sleep Technology Co., Ltd.

Following the investigation, Xishuangbanna Sleep Technology Co., Ltd. was ordered to cease operations.

Because the tour guide involved was found to be unlicensed, Xishuangbanna Discovery Tour International Travel Co., Ltd. was also investigated.

In addition, the records of Liaoning Youde International Culture Travel Company, the unit responsible for opening the tour, have also been transferred to local inspection agencies for processing.
