The Con Son – Kiep Bac Fall Festival in 2012 (Chi Linh, Hai Duong) was officially closed with unexpected successes.
The ceremonies were solemn, monumental with high-quality expertise. The number of people and tourists who attended the festival was the largest ever.
"The festival has succeeded and achieved all the targets set out in the plan. The number of tourists and people from everywhere, who came to attend the festival, was the largest ever. Counting from 1 to 20 August of Lunar Calendar, Con Son - Kiep Bac hosted over 160,000 times of visitors. During the festival days, even nearly 50,000 times of visitors came on one day. More visitors from the South or living in foreign countries attended the festival than those in the previous years ..."

The commemorating anniversary of 570 years from the death of Nguyen Trai with solemn rituals held in Con Son Relic, attracted nearly 10,000 attendants. The ceremony of welcoming the certificate of special national relic in Van Kiep wharf attracted over 20,000 times of people and visitors to attend. This year, the games in the festivals were plentiful. At Con Son Pagoda, Quan Ho (Love Duet) singing, calligraphy presentation and display, Con Son Night of Poetry and Mid-Autumn Festival were held. At Kiep Bac Temple, performance of waiting on Saints, water puppet show, festival of releasing flower garlands and colored lanterns on the Luc Dau River, special art program to celebrate the festival were seen. Festival of troop assembling with the participation of 40 boats, 200 martial students, 100 stick-dancers, lion- dancing teams, dragon-dancing teams on a large, spectacular space, became the special highlight of the festival.

A remarkable point in this year's festival is that the incidents of solicitating, selling too dear to visitors, divination, begging ... were thoroughly solved. Ms. Nguyen Thi Dau, 56, in Hoai Duc (Hanoi) said: "This is the 3rd time I come to Kiep Bac Festival. In the past years we were very upset because of solicitation, price pressure. This year, those incidents were no longer seen. No more theft, no pickpockets so that we felt secure and comfortable to come to the festival."
The successes of the festival are attributed to the close guidance and careful preparation of the Organization Board. The successes of this year's festival were owed partly to Hai Duong Province’s a good propaganda and advertisement. The contents and festival schedule were soon propagandized in the central and local newspapers.
