Building Thanh Dong University on par with prestigious universities

On the morning of November 16, Thanh Dong University opened the 2024-2025 school year, celebrating the 15th anniversary of the school's founding (2009-2024) and the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982-November 20, 2024).

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, praised the achievements of the school in recent years and sent congratulations to the school's staff, lecturers and students.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the country is entering a period of accelerated industrialization, modernization and international integration with intertwined opportunities and challenges. Human factors and knowledge play an important role in ensuring the rapid and sustainable development of the country.

To meet this requirement, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that the school should strive to become a modern multidisciplinary university; promote enrollment, improve training quality, and provide quality human resources for the province and the whole country.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that the school should do a good job in building planning, development plans, managing goals, and quality of education and training; maintain the viewpoint and stance of sustainable development, not commercializing training; promote internal strength, take advantage of every opportunity to strive to build the school to develop on par with prestigious universities in the country.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the school to continue building a team of leaders, managers, and lecturers to ensure quantity, quality, and structure; actively innovate training goals and programs; innovate teaching, testing, and evaluation methods in a modern direction; enhance equipping students with digital and foreign language skills to meet the needs of society...

In recent years, the scale and quality of training of the school have been increasingly expanded and improved. In particular, in the 2023-2024 school year, the school has made strong changes in all aspects, including the effective implementation of training cooperation programs, scientific research with prestigious universities at home and abroad; investing in modern facilities and expanding training majors, contributing to gradually building Thanh Dong University into an application-oriented training university on par with the region and the world.

To date, the school has been permitted by the Ministry of Education and Training to train 25 undergraduate majors, 6 master's majors and a doctoral major in economic management. The scale is more than 8,500 students in regular, joint, distance and graduate programs.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Thanh Dong University will enroll 1,620 students in 25 training majors. To date, the school has enrolled more than 90% of its planned enrollment. The school will continue to enroll students until December 2024.

At the ceremony, Thanh Dong University signed cooperation agreements with a number of universities and enterprises at home and abroad. On this occasion, the school was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the People's Committee of Hai Duong province; many groups and individuals were awarded. Thanh Dong University awarded scholarships to nearly 350 new students.

Previously, on November 15, Thanh Dong University organized many cultural, artistic and entertainment activities to welcome new students for the 2024-2025 school year and celebrate the 15th anniversary of the school's founding such as: camping competition, art performance, grand music festival...
