Most recently, in 2017, the movie “Kong: Skull Island” directed by Vogt - Roberts with many beautiful scenes of Ha Long Bay was released in cinemas worldwide.

In the film, Ha Long Bay appears impressive and majestic with a system of overlapping rocky islands, undulating on the clear blue sea.

After its release, the film created a box office “fever” among Vietnamese audiences. Moreover, the appointment of director Jordan Vogt-Roberts as Vietnam Tourism Ambassador has made the film “Kong: Skull Island” more public attention.

Previously, in 2015, Ha Long Bay appeared magical and beautiful like a fairy tale in the movie "Pan and Neverland" invested and produced by Hollywood.

In particular, when it comes to successful films, the most prominent with filming scenes in Ha Long Bay, it is impossible not to mention the film "Indochina" (Indochine) by French director Régis Wargnier, first premiered in 1992.

With its engaging plot and beautiful, poetic scenes, “Indochina” was awarded “Best Foreign Language Film” at the 65th Academy Awards.

Because many people after watching the film "Indochina" learned about and visited Ha Long Bay with the desire to witness and explore the special beauty of the landscape here, especially tourists from Europe.

Not only attracting the attention of foreign filmmakers, Ha Long Bay also appears in many Vietnamese TV series and documentaries such as "A Lifetime of Enmity" and "Guong Troi".

In these films, Ha Long Bay is exploited in many aspects, from the beauty of natural landscapes to the cultural beauty of the fishing community living on Ha Long Bay in the past.

Through the above names, it can be seen that Ha Long Bay has been and is a valuable setting and material that artists want to explore and exploit. The success and popularity of cinematographic works cannot be mentioned without the contribution from Ha Long Bay.

On the contrary, being chosen as the setting for famous movies is also a "golden" opportunity to promote Ha Long Bay tourism to the global public.
