Doan Van Hau has just attracted attention when he appeared with a brace on his left leg from the knee down after undergoing a new surgery right before the Lunar New Year 2025.

From the second half of 2023, Van Hau will not be able to play for either the national team or the Hanoi Police Club. The defender from Thai Binh suffered a serious heel injury and had to undergo surgery while recovering.

Last year, Van Hau went to Singapore three times to treat his heel injury. In September 2024, he went to Korea for examination and treatment before returning to Vietnam. To date, he has undergone another surgery and is expected to take another eight months to recover.

Doan Van Hau was born in 1999, grew up in the Hanoi Club, currently playing for the Hanoi Police Club. He is considered one of the most promising left-backs in Vietnam as he was a key factor in the journey with U23 Vietnam to win the 2018 Asian runner-up and with the Vietnam team to win the AFF Cup in the same year.

After missing the 2020 AFF Cup due to a knee injury, Hau returned to the 2022 AFF Cup and helped the Vietnamese team win the runner-up position. In 2023, he suffered an Achilles injury and missed the Asian Cup and the campaigns of the Vietnamese team since then.
