In a letter to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, the lawyer representing billionaire Elon Musk - CEO of Twitter, Mr. Alex Spiro, emphasized that Microsoft has violated many terms of the Agreement over a long period of time.

The letter said Microsoft had stopped accessing Twitter's data sources in April 2023 and had chosen not to pay API (application programming interface) access fees under the new regulations.

The US social networking platform asked Microsoft to review all Twitter content it has collected over the past two years and respond by June 7 on how this content is stored and used.

Twitter executives are looking into whether Microsoft exceeded the "reasonable volume of requests" in its free API access rules, leading to behavior that constitutes "abusive use of data."

Billionaire Musk completed the acquisition of Twitter in October 2022. Previously, developers could access, create APIs with Twitter and use them for free. But since the end of March 2023, in order to increase revenue for this social networking platform, CEO Musk announced plans to require developers to pay to access APIs. This caused chaos among thousands of developers.

In April 2023, billionaire Musk posted a tweet on his personal Twitter account, accusing Microsoft of illegally using Twitter data to train artificial intelligence and mentioning "litigation time".

According to observers, Mr. Musk is openly opposing Microsoft and Google in an effort to promote the development of his young artificial intelligence corporation X.AI.

Major technology companies such as Google, Meta (owner of social network Facebook) and Microsoft have spent years researching artificial intelligence (AI) systems, aiming to develop tools to support translation, search and advertising... on the company's platforms.

In particular, Microsoft is investing billions of dollars in OpenAI - the developer of ChatGPT software - and has put this advanced technology to work in the Microsoft-developed Bing Internet search service.
