Identifying "Youth Volunteers" as one of three revolutionary action movements launched at the 11th National Youth Union Congress, in recent years, the Youth Union of Hai Duong Province's Agencies has focused on promoting volunteer activities for community life and social security.
The volunteer programs to ensure social security are effectively implemented by the Youth Union of the Provincial Agencies, in line with the needs of social life. The role of the Youth Union bases is clearly affirmed in participating in social security activities, community development, supporting families with preferential policies, revolutionary contributors and students in difficult circumstances.
Community health care programs, consultation, medical examination, and free medicine distribution have been widely implemented. In particular, during the complicated development of the Covid-19 epidemic, Youth Union organizations have carried out many practical activities, promoting the spirit of "pioneering, mutual assistance, and adaptation", effectively participating in the process of disease prevention and support for the people.
The content and methods of implementing the volunteer movement are increasingly innovated, flexible, appropriate, and have the effect of calling on young people to actively participate, creating many good impressions in society.
Through volunteer activities, the Youth Union of the bloc has contributed to the socio-economic development of the locality and unit. This shows the maturity of the Union and affirms that the youth volunteer movement is a meaningful environment for members to experience, learn, seek opportunities to contribute and affirm their own values.
During the process of building and growing up over the past 30 years, the Youth Union of the Provincial Agencies has taken the initiative to undertake and carry out 978 youth projects and tasks with a total value of nearly 5.1 billion VND. Tens of thousands of Youth Union members have been mobilized to contribute their youth in various fields to improve efficiency and progress in labor production, benefiting agencies and businesses with tens of billions of VND.
Provided free consultation, medical examination, and medicine to 13,663 policy beneficiaries worth over 2.3 billion VND; presented 8,523 gifts worth over 2.9 billion VND to policy beneficiaries, families with revolutionary contributions, and students in difficult circumstances. Mobilized 11,020 youth union members to register for voluntary blood donation and collected 8,216 units of blood, supported the construction of 14 gratitude houses with a total value of nearly 1 billion VND.
To achieve the above results, the Provincial Agencies' Bloc has proactively consulted, sought support, and created favorable conditions from Party committees and leaders in terms of funding and organization time.
Develop programs and tasks that attract the participation and support of youth union members, avoid implementing programs that are superficial, coercive, or not suitable to the abilities of youth union members.
Based on the characteristics of each unit, the Youth Union of the Provincial Agencies Bloc develops plans, promotes the strengths of each grassroots union, and members "identifies the main professional tasks as a premise for implementing volunteer activities well". At the same time, proactively connects grassroots units in the bloc to coordinate in organizing volunteer activities to bring about the best efficiency and quality.
Actively coordinate with organizations, businesses and individuals to mobilize social resources to participate in volunteer activities to diversify and effectively organize Youth Union movements.
With the joint efforts and consensus of the youth union members from the youth union bases in the bloc, in 2022, the Youth Union of the Provincial Agencies Bloc was awarded the Emulation Flag by the Central Youth Union for outstanding achievements in the Youth Union work and youth movements of the agencies, public service units, and enterprises; Hai Duong Provincial Youth Union awarded the Emulation Flag for the 2017-2022 term; the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded a certificate of merit for outstanding achievements in summer activities and the 2023 summer volunteer campaign along with many other certificates of merit.
This will be the premise for the Youth Union of the Provincial Agencies to promote the results and achievements, overcome difficulties, strive to fulfill assigned tasks, and build an increasingly strong and developed Youth Union organization.
In 2024, with the theme "Year of Youth Volunteers", the Youth Union of Provincial Agencies will continue to implement the "Youth Volunteers" movement in professional and production fields, improving the quality of volunteer activities. Focus on on-site volunteering, regular volunteering, short-term and long-term volunteering, in which regular volunteering plays a key role..Expand the scope and improve the quality of the programs "Voluntary Blood Donation", "Voluntary Saturday", "Repaying gratitude - Remembering the source of water", medical examination and treatment, free medicine distribution, promptly organize volunteer activities to participate in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, urgent issues, and new issues arising from the community.
